PRIVACY POLICY

Effective date: July 23, 2026

Pantry to Porch ("Pantry to Porch," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that coordinates volunteer-powered food deliveries to members of our community. We respect your privacy and collect only the information we need to run the program. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

If you have any questions, contact us at info@pantrytoporch.org or 801-801-7712, or by mail at 533 S Centerview Ct #8007, West Jordan, UT 84084.

Whom this policy covers

This policy applies to the clients who receive food from us and the volunteers who help deliver it, whether you sign up through our website or app or by another method.

Information we collect

When you register, we collect the information you give us, which may include:

  • Your name and contact details (email address and phone number)

  • For clients: information needed to fulfill deliveries, such as your delivery address, the names and dates of birth of members of your household (including children), and any household needs or delivery instructions you choose to share.

  • For volunteers: information needed to coordinate volunteering, such as your delivery area. You may optionally provide your home address, or another address, to enable us to assign you deliveries nearby.

  • Your communication preferences, including whether you have opted in to receive emails or text messages from us.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Coordinate and deliver food, and to match volunteers with deliveries

  • Communicate with clients and volunteers about orders, deliveries, and volunteering

  • Send you email updates if you have opted in to receive them

  • Send you text-message updates about your deliveries if you have opted in to receive them

  • Operate, maintain, and improve our program

  • Comply with the law and protect the safety of our clients, volunteers, and organization

Text messaging and your mobile number

If you opt in to text messages, we use your mobile number only to send you the updates you signed up for. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your mobile phone number or your text-messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data is never shared with third parties for those purposes.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in limited ways:

  • Partner pantries — Pantry to Porch coordinates deliveries but does not operate a food pantry ourselves. We work with independent partner pantries that prepare food and other essentials for each household. To do this, we share with the relevant partner pantry the information they need to fulfill client requests, such as the client's name, contact information, the names and dates of birth of household members (including children), and any household needs they have told us about. Partner pantries also receive the names and phone numbers of volunteers scheduled to pick up on behalf of clients. Partner pantries are independent organizations with their own privacy practices.

  • Service providers that help us run the program (for example, our email provider and our text-messaging provider) may process your information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their service to us.

  • Volunteers receive the delivery details they need to complete client deliveries, such as a client's name, delivery address, phone number, and delivery instructions.

  • Legal and safety — we may disclose information if required by law or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients, volunteers, or organization.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to the people and providers who need it to run the program.

Your choices

  • You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.

  • You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.

  • You can ask us to review, update, or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us at info@pantrytoporch.org.

  • Opting out of emails or texts will not affect your access to our services in any way.

Children's privacy

Our program is intended for adults registering for food assistance or volunteering.

If you are a client registering for food assistance, the household information you give us may include the names and dates of birth of children in your household. This information is required by some of our partner pantries. You provide this as the adult registering, and we use it only to coordinate and provide food assistance to your household, handling it with the same care as the other personal information described in this policy.

A minor may register to volunteer only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who must review and sign our volunteer agreement before the minor begins volunteering. In those cases we collect only the limited information needed to coordinate the minor's volunteering, with the knowledge and consent of their parent or guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian and would like to review, update, or delete information we hold about your child, please contact us at info@pantrytoporch.org.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
