As a volunteer driver, you’ll pick up groceries from local food pantries and deliver them directly to families and individuals in need.

 

Volunteering is quick, flexible, and meaningful. You pick the day, time, and location that work best for you. No long-term commitment required.

 

Every trip is more than a delivery. It’s a chance to support neighbors in need, to connect with your community, and to know that your efforts are making a real difference.

New volunteers MUST complete the Volunteer Waiver and read Volunteer Orientation before making deliveries.

  • Complete Pantry to Porch Volunteer Registration

  • Complete Volunteer Agreement Form

  • Sign-up to deliver food boxes (via the links above)

  • Civil Rights training (Utah Food Bank only)

Before Your Scheduled Delivery

Volunteers receive an email including pertinent information such as:

  • Client's Name

  • Address

  • Phone number

  • Number of adults and children for delivery

  • Any special items included in the order

The Delivery Process

  • Arrive at the assigned distribution center

  • Check in with staff

  • Load food boxes into your vehicle

  • Confirm correct address

  • Deliver to client(s)

  • Knock or ring doorbell to alert order has been delivered​

Clients are given a time window for delivery; it is not necessary to meet them.

​

Volunteers may text clients with information regarding delivery but it is not required.

Tips

  • Most volunteers choose to do 1-2 deliveries at a time

  • if making more than 2 deliveries, a larger vehicle may be needed (i.e. SUV, truck, crossover, etc)

  • Plan on committing at least 2 hours for your deliveries
